Save Money by Volume Buying

A slightly different take on the "get a great deal on the
net" idea. Unlike Priceline or other reverse auction sites,
VolumeBuy lets you enter "pools" with like-minded
buyers all looking for a given product. The more people
in the pool, the greater the volume discount and the more
you save.

There are different types of pools that allow for variations
on the time limits and discounts offered. You'll find pools
for computer hardware, software, airline tickets, movie
tickets, and more.

When buying on the net be sure you know exactly what
it is you want to buy and what the actual retail cost is so
you know when you really are getting a good value.

Shortcuts

Easy Cut and Paste

Probably the most useful keyboard shortcuts in the world
are CTRL+X, (cut); CTRL+C, (copy); and CTRL+V,
(paste). You can use them virtually anywhere to
manipulate text as well as objects such as files or folders.

Highlight the items you want to cut, copy or paste and
then use the keyboard shortcut. Most people find it a lot
faster and more accurate to perform these functions by
combining keyboard shortcuts and the mouse to place
the insertion point rather than doing it all just with a mouse.

'Tis the season that you may be looking for holiday
related clip art. Check the art of Christmas section for
holiday images at

and fonts. They also have an Image Sources link to other
good image sites.

tips about Y2K. Here's a free BIOS test:

Download the Norton 2000 BIOS Test and Fix freeware
utility from the FileWorld site at:

http://www.fileworld.com

This tool will test your BIOS and system clock for Y2K
trouble and will also let you browse a database matching
your hardware setup to known problems. PCPLite is
another free test utility for Y2K compatibility. PCPLite
tests a number of aspects of your computer CMOS
battery status, BIOS, 2000 date retention and leap years
from 1996 to 2036.

It also will determine whether your PC machine can be
readied for Y2K with a hardware fix or a software fix
(or whether it can be updated at all).
