[1] THIS WEEK'S MONEY SAVER: FREE Email Program

Qualcomm, a company best known for wireless telephone
technology and software, is the distributor of an
excellent email program that you can get for free.

There is a retail version of the Eudora program, but the
free version - supported by ads - is so similar, that there
is hardly any reason to upgrade. (A small, unobtrusive
ad window runs when the program is active.)

The program has so many handy features (including inline
spell-checking, advanced filtering options, and 17 others)
that it's difficult to mention all of them. If you choose
not to run the ad supported version, and you don't wish to
pay $49.95 for the commercial version, there is also a
somewhat less robust Lite version.

An added benefit: nobody writes malicious code for
Eudora, like they do for Outlook.

Historical note: The Eudora program is largely
Canadian in origin and gets its name from Canadian
author Eudora Welty, who wrote a story about the
Canadian postal service.

Most likely there is one program you use more than any
other. Perhaps it's your browser, email program, or a word
processor, or desktop publishing program.

Here's how you can start that program automatically when
you start your computer:

1. Click "Start," click "Settings," and then click
"Taskbar & Start Menu."
2. Click the "Start Menu Programs" tab.
3. Click "Add," and then click "Browse."
4. Locate the program you want to begin at startup, and
then click it.
5. Click "Next," and then double-click the "StartUp"
folder.
6. Type the name that you want to see on the StartUp
menu, and then click "Finish."
7. If Windows prompts you to choose an icon, click one,
and then click "Finish."
