[2] THIS WEEK'S COMPUTING TIP: Self-Help Site
----------------------------------------------------------
Host Nick Reynolds says he started the HELP-SITE
to
assist people in finding computer-related documentation.
It was originally called Online Manuals, and it was
especially useful for those of us who have some hardware
for which we can no longer find the documentation. Say
after purchasing a piece of used equipment, or after
looking in vain for that manual we were "sure" we had
put where we wouldn't lose it.
The site is not owned by any company and it is a personal
project of Nick's. Reynolds says he was simply trying to
address the fact that with so much information on the net
now, it is getting more and more difficult to find the
information one needs even though there is plenty of it
available.
Within this nicely
indexed site you can find, or post,
manuals, FAQs and links for all sorts of software and
hardware. (Mac users take note: this includes you!)

[3] THIS WEEK'S INTERNET TIP: WebSite101
----------------------------------------------------------
WebSite101
is basic training for operating a small
business online in the manner of a beginning college
course.
It is designed as a free tutorial for small business and
entrepreneurial minds online. Offered are resources for
learning how to get established online with great ideas,
but without great funding.
The site offers web beginners a small business
e-commerce tutorial with definitions of Web terms, easily implemented
suggestions, and great resources for the entrepreneur ready to expand
to the web. Free web content and articles for newsletters are also provided.

"Committee: A cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured
and then quietly strangled."

[5] A Personal Recommendation: Go Platinum
----------------------------------------------------------
I usually don't get involved with pre-launch companies
much less recommend them, because the risk is usually
too great. This has been my only exception. The risk is
as minimal as you can get: sign up is free, while the
potential for making money appears to be very real.
If promises of a quick buck and great riches are what
make your mouth water, you will not find it here. This
new program, Going
Platinum, could be hyped, and
some do, but that isn't my style, and it just isn't necessary.
Going
Platinum does not replace any program(s) you
are working now. Its job is to complement your work in those programs,
by adding free tools to help you become more successful. It will give
you added compensation for the time and effort you're already investing
in your
business.

I am very excited about what
this company offers.
Please have a look for yourself. Looking can't hurt and
it may be of great value to you.
The best way to proceed is to sign up for free, study the
site and read the posts in the member forum. After you
have reviewed the site, if you are not comfortable,
simply quit. You have nothing to lose.
If you do have questions or would like to share any
thoughts about this program with me, please e-mail
me.
