If you're interested in exercising your mind or looking
for free courses available on the web, go to the World
Lecture Hall. Enter a keyword or drill down by
categories from Accounting to Zoology and you'll find
links to pages created by college faculty who are using
the Web to deliver course materials in any language worldwide.

Some courses are delivered entirely over the internet.
Others are designed for students in residence. Many fall
somewhere in between, and all can be visited by anyone
interested in internet learning.

Ever had a keyboard key break or go missing? It does
happen. Or are you left-handed and you've always imagined that there should be left-handed keyboards? Or maybe you just have big fingers and you wish you could also have oversized keys?

Well, here's a place with the solution to each of these
situations. They've got replacement keys, special colored
keys, keyboard covers, left-handed keyboards and for
those of us with less-than-dainty digits, keyboards with
keys that are a full one-inch square. You've got to see
some of this stuff to believe it. (They even have Braille
keyboards!)

[3] THIS WEEK'S INTERNET TIP: Netscape Security Hole
----------------------------------------------------------

A bug has been discovered in the part of Netscape that runs applets downloaded from web pages, known as Netscape's Java Virtual Machine. The bug could allow a malicious user to include code in the Java applets that
could access any file on your computer.

The code itself would be activated without your
knowledge. BugNet, the discoverers of the bug, have offered the following workaround until an official fix is released by Netscape:

Disable Java in the Netscape Preferences. To do this,
start Netscape and click "Edit," on the menu bar, then
"Preferences." Select "Advanced" and uncheck "Enable Java." Click "OK" to save the changes.

announcement of a fix:

I usually don't get involved with pre-launch companies
much less recommend them, because the risk is usually
too great. This has been my only exception. The risk is
as minimal as you can get: sign up is free, while the
potential for making money appears to be very real.

If promises of a quick buck and great riches are what
make your mouth water, you will not find it here. This
new program, Going Platinum, could be hyped, and
some do, but that isn't my style, and it just isn't necessary.
