Do you like the convenience of being able to shop for
computer equipment on the internet, but are you wary of
dealing with a company you may not have heard of?

At Reseller Ratings you can see what others who have
trafficked with a given vendor have to say about their
experiences with almost 1,500 companies. You can
quickly find out who to deal with and who to avoid. Companies are arranged alphabetically making it easy to locate them by name.

The ratings are based on seven survey questions and the
companies receive final scores between zero and seven.
There's also a comments section where people describe
their experiences with the company in question.

This week's tip isn't directly computer related but it is
fun and it's a great way to fritter way at least half an
hour of productivity.

The Answering Machine site simply has the very best
telephone answering machine messages ever assembled
in one easy-to-access spot. Funny, serious, risqué, you name it, they've got it.

There's some very clever stuff here along with some
poorly done celebrity impersonations and a few real celebrities.

How did they get Leonard Nimoy to do a "Spock
answers the phone" bit?

Check it out when you're not in a hurry or don't have
something else you should be doing.

Sure there are only a handful of search engines that
anyone really needs. But when you're searching for
information in a particular area of expertise, wouldn't
it be nice to have a search engine that only deals with

Here's a site that arranges 3,545 search engines into
16 logical categories by topic, each with sensible
sub-categories. The categories are: Arts, Business,
