Looking for a free internet service provider? Joe West
has constructed an informative listing of free ISP's. He
also lists the size of downloads, if any, comments from
users, and whether the service is paid for by banner ads
or other forms of advertising.

Joe uses a clever, and helpful, color coding system to
separate the best from the worst. He also tells you
which services work for MAC or WebTV.

He states: "The purpose of this page is to provide
side-by-side comparisons and at-a-glance information
relative to free Internet service providers. It will
help answer many questions including:

1. What do I have to give in return for free service?
2. What do others have to say about the service?
3. What dial-up numbers are offered?
4. Are there any hidden charges?

Keep in mind though, "free" seldom is. There's going to
be some kind of trade-off. Nonetheless, it's good to have
an alternative service provider when your regular provider
has their inevitable down time, which they all do.

Do you spend a lot of time using the Find feature in
Windows? Here's a faster way to locate those difficult to
access files: From the desktop or any Explorer window,
just press the F3 key.

It will function the same as if you had selected "Start,"
"FIND," "Files or Folders."

When you press F3, "Find" will open with its focus on
your current location. For example, if you're on the
desktop, the "Look In" line will point to the Desktop
folder.

If you favor the mouse over the keyboard, here's another
way to do it: Just right-click the folder or drive you
want to search and select "Find." Again, "Find" will
open with the focus on that folder.
