Here's one of the Web's largest computer help directories
and a place for you to set up a help desk personalized for
your hardware and software. Resources for more than
1500 software and hardware products are at your
fingertips, FREE! And, yes, Macs are covered here, as
well as most major software programs, printers, zip drives
and peripherals!

To get started, one fills out a brief membership
questionnaire and creates a profile of the software they
would like in their personal profile. After registration one
can add or delete software and hardware from the profile.
Extensive help files, forums and links are then available for
each product in one's profile with one or two mouse clicks.

How To Get the Truth About Products and Services

Ever wanted to buy a new part or use a service that you've
heard about, but with all the possibilities you weren't sure
what would be best for you? So many manufacturers and
service providers puff their stuff that it's hard to get to the
truth on products or services. Who can you go to for less
biased advice Usenet newsgroups.

Your browser should allow you to use a news reader or
news server to mine the newsgroups. Check with your
internet service provider about how to use this service. Or
you can start at Deja.com (now operated by Google.com)
or Remarq.com, two services that let you search virtually
all the newsgroups (and there are many thousands of
categories). Simply do a search for the product or service
that interests you and you're bound to find lots of
commentary from real people who have actually tried it
already and have something to say about it.
