[2] THIS WEEK'S COMPUTING TIP: Fast Program Launches
---------------------------------------------------------
Impatient to get those programs launched?
If you don't use the number keys on the numeric keypad
very often, you can use them to create single-click
keyboard shortcuts to launch your 10 favorite
applications.
Start by turning on the "NumLock" key. Then, right-click
on an existing program shortcut and choose "Properties"
from the pop-up menu. In the "Shortcut" tab, select the
"Shortcut key" field, press the number key (on your
number pad at the left of your keyboard) that you want
to associate with the program, then click "OK."
Repeat the steps for each program's respective shortcut.
Now, just keep these shortcuts on your Desktop, or in
your Windows folder. With NumLock on, you'll be one
key stroke away from your favorite programs.
