You sign up for a free account; click on "Log-O-Mat;"
select the font and logo style that you want; type in your
text; then this service creates your image for you in JPG
format.

These folks also offer complete Web sites, with 12 megs

Keep Track of What You Download

Last week we posted a tip for MAC users. This week's
tip is for both Mac's and PC's.

Ever download a file off the internet with a cryptic name?
If you save it for later use, chances are that after a few
days or weeks you'll have forgotten what it was. Try this:

Immediately after downloading the file, rename it to
something you CAN remember. If it's a program, name
it appropriately. Include the version number, so that next
time you go to download an upgrade, you won't
download one that you already have. If it's a graphic, let
the name describe what or who it is. End of confusion.
